Simplicity Announces Winner of Lawn Striping Contest "Earn Your Stripes"
Grand prize is a new 2013 Simplicity® Broadmoor ™ lawn tractor
MILWAUKEE (August 21, 2013) – Simplicity® is pleased to announce that the grand-prize winner of its “Earn Your Stripes” lawn striping contest is Matt Perotti of Canaan, Conn. Briggs & Stratton® selected the top 10 eligible entries and David Mellor, a professional groundskeeper for a big-league ballpark, picked the grand-prize lawn striping design.
“I chose the winning pattern because it was an advanced diamond design that had an almost 3-D look to it,” Mellor said. “Matt’s design showcased alternating double-wide and single-wide stripes and his attention to detail in the diamond pattern was evident. Congratulations to Matt on his top-notch design.”
Perotti received a new 2013 Simplicity Broadmoor ™ lawn tractor from Crane & Sons Outdoor Power Equipment, also in Canaan, on Aug. 21. The tractor offers 27 gross horsepower* with a 52-inch fabricated mower deck.
The lawn stripping photo contest took place from May 1 to June 30 through the “Earn Your Stripes Photo Contest” application on the Simplicity Facebook page. All lawn stripe patterns were judged on appearance, originality and level of difficulty or complexity.
