Briggs & Stratton Touts Successful Snowshredder™ Serrated Auger on Simplicity and Briggs & Stratton Branded Single-Stage Snow Blowers

Single-stage snow blower with dual-stage power

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin – When introduced prior to last winter, the SnowShredder™ Serrated Auger on select single-stage snow blowers built by Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group, LLC promised to let users easily clear snow and ice, including that tough and compacted end-of-the-driveway snow left behind by the snowplow. And it delivered, becoming one of the company’s most successful snow product launches ever.

“Unlike single-stage units that only clear light snowfall, or dual-stage snow blowers that can be difficult to maneuver, the innovative SnowShredder auger provides the best of both worlds,” says Troy Blewett, director of dealer channel marketing.  “Customers who purchased SnowShredder-equipped models appreciate its combination of maneuverability and snow clearing power.”

The SnowShredder auger system combines 14-welded, serrated steel surfaces with reinforced rubber paddles to efficiently chop, grind and clear compacted snow, ice and end-of-driveway snow build-up. The self-propelled drive system quickly clears down to the pavement and moves the snowblower forward effortlessly. This new feature is available on two easy-to-use models, the 922EXD and the 1222EE, in Simplicity® and Briggs & Stratton® branded single-stage snow blowers.

The model 1222EE features a 250cc Briggs & Stratton 1150 Snow Series™ engine, the largest its class, letting the operator clear snow more than 30% faster compared to the company’s other single stage snow blowers.1  The powerful engine is complemented by an easy-to-use electric chute rotation control to quickly and accurately adjust the direction snow is thrown.

All Simplicity and Briggs & Stratton models feature an ergonomically designed handlebar and easy-to-use controls for enhanced operator comfort and maneuverability.  Additionally, push-button electric start provides quick starts on cold winter days – down to -20 F – and if it doesn’t start within two electric start attempts, Briggs & Stratton will fix it for free2. The entire snow blower is also backed up by a three-year limited warranty3.

Simplicity and Briggs & Stratton models will be carried by participating independent dealers. The Briggs & Stratton-branded 922EXD model is also available at select Lowe’s stores.

The model 922EXD has a minimum advertised price (MAP) of $599; the model 1222EE has a MAP of $699. Prices may vary by retailer.
